Our goal is to go beyond casual relationships and social connections. Our prayer is that you will share the gospel with your international friends. Having this goal in mind helps as we develop relationships. There are a number of key components that are essential to being effective.
The Power of Love: As the Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 13, if we don’t have love, everything else is worth nothing. Demonstration of the unconditional love of God is at the very heart of what we do.
The Power of Prayer: Prayer is the foundation of all that we do. As Oswald Chambers said, “Too often we treat prayer as the preparation for the work of the church. Do you not see? Prayer IS the work of the church.” We must be always in prayer for our international friends, that God himself would do what only he can do, open their hearts, and draw them to himself.
The Power of the Walk: We must daily live out our faith, allowing our international friends to see what it means to follow Christ. Many have an incorrect view of what Christianity is all about. One of the best ways to change this is to openly live out what we believe.
The Power of Intentionality: Impact usually requires intentionality. It usually doesn’t just happen. It requires purposeful planning and commitment. It requires planned action and follow-through.
The Power of Relationships: Relationships are at the heart of our approach. As we develop relationships with our international friends, we build bridges and tear down walls. We learn their needs, and strive to meet them. Most importantly, we live out our faith in front of them.
The Power of Community: It all starts with the individual relationship, but our vision is much larger. We pray that we can impact entire communities through the life of an individual. As we develop relationships, we are looking for men and women of peace, someone who will be the gateway into a community. Through the principle of multiplication, impacting one person can touch the world.
The Power of Hospitality: Hospitality is an art that has often been neglected in American culture, but it is at the center of most other cultures. It is through hospitality that bridges are built and relationships go deeper.
The Power of Service: With Christ as our example, we strive to serve. It is often through service that we are able to demonstrate who God is and who He has called us to be.
The Power of Commitment: There are times when things get difficult, and we feel we have reached the end. True commitment is in it for the duration. It can take years to see fruit in the lives of some. Commitment does not give up, but instead perseveres through prayer.
